The News Minute | November 5, 2014 | 2.28 pm ISTThe death of a minor girl in Tirthahalli village in Shivamogga district has now caused a duel of “aane pramana” (pledges) between district in-charge Minister Kimmane Ratnakar and BJP MPs B S Yeddyurappa and Shobha Karandlaje.On Thursday, Ratnakar went a temple-visiting spree, making a pledge at the Rameshwar temple in Tirthahalli that he had done no wrong and prayed for deliverance from the canards being spread by his enemies. On Wednesday, along with other BJP leaders, the duo said that the investigation being scuttled and claimed that the minister was shielding the accused.A day after, Ratnakar countered by challenging Yeddyurappa and Karandlaje to take a pledge in Dharmasthala before the presiding deity. He said that the after the investigation was over, they should both come to Dharmasthala. I will go on a padayatra, I will visit all schools on the way. Let people know that their’s is a communal party,” Ratnakar said.Speaking to Kannada news channel TV9, Shobha Karandlaje said: “If he is going to do aane pramana, why has he been given authority? All we want is for the investigation to be done properly and for the accused to be caught.”
