Karnataka youth allegedly murders girl who rejected his marriage proposal

Police arrested a 19-year-old man for stabbing a minor girl to death on Friday in Dharwad district of northern Karnataka, for refusing to marry him. According to Hubballi Town police, Vinayak Manjunath (19) stabbed Ashwini on Fridaywho died on the spot. Police say the girl had refused to marry Manjunath despite the latter’s repeated pestering, as her parents had arranged her marriage elsewhere. The police said the victim is a resident of Weaver’s Colony in Malapura village. Both of them were working together in a hotel for the past six months.
