Karnataka man walks into police station with woman's head, second incident this month

Written by : Theja Ram

A few weeks ago, a man from Chikkamagaluru marched into the Ajjampura police station clutching his wife’s head in his hand. In an uncannily similar incident, a 27-year-old man, Aziz Khan, walked into Kolar’s Srinivaspura police station on Thursday, with a woman’s severed head, claiming to have killed her.

Officers at the Srinivaspura police station expressed shock over the incident. “He walked in casually and fished out the head of a woman from a bag. All of us were shocked and some of the officers, who were standing closer to Aziz, were terrified. We have seen dead bodies in our line of work but this was shocking even for us,” a police officer said.

At around 6 pm on Thursday, Aziz, a resident of Srinivaspura, walked into the police station with Roshini Khan’s head. Roshini was a resident of Bengaluru’s Viveknagar and the duo were allegedly in a relationship.

Aziz allegedly told the police that he murdered Roshini near Chintamani taluk’s Murugamalla dargah and had come to surrender.

“We immediately informed the Chintamani Rural Police about the crime and handed over the case to them. We took Aziz to Chintamani and handed him over to the police,” Srinivasapura police said.

According to an investigating officer attached to the Chintamani police station, Aziz was taken to the crime spot near the Murugamall dargah, where he had beheaded Roshini.

“The place where he killed her was quite far from the dargah. Aziz is married but he claims to have fallen in love with Roshini and the two were seeing each other after she left her husband. She had allegedly broken up with Aziz a few weeks ago. Aziz had asked her to meet him one last time. On Monday, they met at the dargah, where they stayed in Murugamalla for four days. When she decided to break up with him, Aziz claims to have beheaded her,” the Chintamani Police said.

Aziz then put Roshini’s head in a bag and drove all the way to Kolar’s Srinivaspura police station and handed over her head to the police.

A case of murder has been registered against Aziz at the Chintamani Rural Police Station.
