Karnataka govt shows a sign of being serious about waste management

But now in a sign that they wish to find a solution to the problem, the state government has appointed a special commissioner for Solid Waste Management (SWM).With the BBMP signing an agreement promising not to send garbage to a landfill near Bangalore city called Mandur by December, it has become imperative to find a solution quicklyThe recent protest by villagers at Mandur had threatened to go out of control, forcing the state police to clamp prohibitory orders there.
