Karnataka govt makes rearing and selling Japanese quail legal

The News Minute | August 21, 2014 | 10:17 am ISTThe Karnataka government has lifted a three-year ban on rearing and selling of Japanese quails, thus making it legal in the state, according to a Bangalore Mirror report.The move was made after a recent directive from the Centre which removed Japanese quail from schedule IV of The Indian Wildlife Protection Act (TIWPA).A license, which was mandatory earlier, will not be required anymore, adds the report.
