Karnataka Governor says: "We will pursue saffronization"

The News Minute | January 8, 2014 | 3.23 pm ISTGovernor Vajubhai Vala on Wendesday said at a college in coastal Karrnataka: “We proudly speak about saffronisation, will continue to do so, and achieve saffronisation as well.”He was speaking during the inaugural ceremony of golden jubilee of Vivekananda Degree College and Vivekananda Pre-University College at Puttur, around 50 km from Mangalore. He made several other similar remarks about religion and culture during his speech.He said: “We don’t make fun of any religion and will not take it lightly if someone does it to us.”“Some people deem education in Indian culture and refinement as saffronisation. Irrespective of these objections, we should ensure that important aspects of our culture and refinement are included in education. We are committed to continue with this task.”
