The News Minute | September 23, 2014 | 09:31 am IST The Karnataka government has asked all government communication, including those by MLAs, to be made using official IDs, instead of using services like Gmail or Yahoo, in a bid to avoid hacking, states a report by Bangalore Mirror. The government has asked 'all its officials and public representatives at the state level to use only government-generated 'safe' services to send emails', states the report. Bangalore Mirror quotes an IAS officer as saying, "Some of our communications included financial and classified administrative decisions that could have been hacked. Now, with government mail servers there is no threat of hackers."Government officials can use government mail services powered by either Karnataka State Wide Area Network (KSWAN) or National Informatics Centre (NIC).
