Kannada director-actor Sandeep of ‘Bisile’ fame dies in bike accident

Sandeep Gowda, the 38-year-old Kannada cinema director and actor, was killed in an accident after his two-wheeler rammed into a tree near the Bengaluru University campus early on Monday.

The Sandalwood director and actor was killed in an accident in the outskirts of Bengaluru on Monday.

Gowda was a resident of Rajarajeshwari Nagar. He was known for his movie titled “Bisile” starring Kannada actors Diganth and Jennifer Kotwal that he  had directed in 2010.

A case has been registered in Jnanabharathi police station, reported Public TV.

“Hit Wicket” starring Diganth and Apoorva Gowda in the lead, was Gowda’s next directorial project which was to roll out soon. However, the release would be put on hold because of Gowda’s death, reported TOI.

The accident took place around 3 15AM when he was returning home from a friend’s residence, said the police

“He was heading towards Mysuru Road to reach his residence when his scooter rammed into a tree. He suffered severe head injuries and was killed on the spot,” a police officer said.
