Sandalwood actor, Sruthi Hariharan, on Friday, filed a complaint with the Bengaluru Cyber Crime Cell, after a few morphed nude photos of the actor went viral on social media.

A complaint has been registered against unidentified persons for morphing nude photographs of her and uploading it on social media. Also, a fake Facebook page was created, where these pictures were uploaded.

At around 9.30 am on Friday, the actor filed the complaint, asking the police to trace the miscreants as soon as possible.

The Cyber Crime Police have registered a complaint against unidentified persons under the IT Act.

“Unidentified persons had set up fake profiles of the actor. They had morphed her face on to the bodies of a few women working in the adult movie industry and uploaded them on various social media sites including Facebook,” said ACP Ravi (Crime)

The actor had met with Police Commissioner, Praveen Sood, on Thursday, before she filed a complaint.

“She requested that the miscreants be traced as soon as possible. A complaint has been filed under section 57 of the IT Act,” ACP Ravi added.

In September 2016, Kannada actor, Sonu Gowda’s nude selfies went viral on social media. The actor had then filed a complaint stating that those were pictures she had sent to her husband and that someone had taken her phone and uploaded them on social media.

In 2013, another Kannada actor, Rishika Singh’s face was morphed in a video, which went viral after it was uploaded on YouTube.

The clip showed a woman similar to Rishika having sexual intercourse with her ‘Benki Birugali' co-star S K Basheed, who is also the actor-director of the flick.
