Written by : TNM Staff

Days after an extravagant and over-the-top wedding invitation of Karnataka mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy’s daughter’s wedding made headlines, it has been reported that top BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been invited to the wedding. Meanwhile, former Karnataka Lokayukta has demanded that the Income Tax department should monitor the wedding for expenses.

Shivakumar G Malagi reports for Deccan Chronicle that according to Reddy’s confidante B Sriramalu, all Union Ministers will also be invited for the wedding scheduled to be held in November.

However, it is not clear if all the leaders have agreed to attend the wedding.

With the ‘boxed’ invitation with LCD screens raising eyebrows, former Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde on Thursday urged IT officials to monitor the affair, as it was an indication of the number of assets he would have gained from illegal mining.

The invitation video features Reddy, his wife, daughter Brahmani, his son and even the groom Rajeev Reddy. And, Janardhan Reddy and his wife are lip-syncing to a Kannada song that was specially composed for the wedding.

Reddy, a former cabinet minister was jailed for a period of three years in connection with Ballary illegal mining case.
