High drama and how Nityananda took tv channels for a ride

Written by : TNM

The News Minute| September 9, 2014| 7.00 am ISTOn Monday, Nityananda was to undergo potency test at the Nephro Urology Institute at Victorial hospital in Bangalore, after months of dodging it in court. It was the perfect news item for channels, espcially Kannada channels that devoted almost the entire day’s coverage to it, except for short breaks for updates about Railway Minister’s son Karthik Gowda’s bail plea.Camera crews waited outside Nityananda’s ashram and when a car came out with a person clad in saffron, hiding face from the cameras, the crews knew it was Nityananda. A chase started on the Bangalore-Mysore highway with TV crews on either sides of the ashram’s car, taking shots of Nityananda. But then the car met with an accident, and as the car’s occupants came out, the channels realised Nityananda had played a trick with them , and sent one of his disciples in the car.Soon news headlines were soon about how Nityananda tried to ‘escape’ channels. Multiple crews of each channel, waiting at all entrance/exits of Victoria hospital hoped to get a glimpse of Nithyananda. The Swamy entered in a three-car convoy, even indulged in a bit of drama waving to people. But it was only when he came out that most channels got a good visual of the swany in trouble. Though no one knows why Nithyananda came out in a wheel chair, even the doctors were flummoxed.
