Heavy rains continued to lash the city on May 19 night and May 20 morning, causing widespread waterlogging, fallen trees, and traffic disruptions in several parts of Bengaluru. Commuters faced delays due to blocked roads and slow-moving traffic, especially in areas where ongoing construction had already narrowed road space.
In several neighbourhoods, cars were seen stuck in waterlogged lanes, and two-wheeler riders were forced to push their vehicles through flooded stretches. The Bengaluru Traffic Police temporarily closed Hosur road between Silkboard and Rupena Agrahara due to heavy flooding. The advisory also said that the elevated flyover was also closed.
Slow moving traffic was reported in several parts of Bengaluru on May 20 morning due to waterlogging caused by rains. Key stretches included roads from Jayadeva Hospital towards East End Circle, Varthur College to Varthur Kodi Junction, Cottonpet towards Sulthanpet Circle, and Bilekahalli towards G D Mara Junction.
Further, due to waterlogging under railway underpass on road from Vijnanapura (near the FCI godown) towards Beniganahalli metro station, traffic movement from Benniganahalli towards Tin Factory has been halted. Traffic police are working to clear the water.
