HD Deve Gowda, CM of Karnataka? When did that happen?

Written by : TNM Staff

Someone in Hassan, the JD (S)' stronghold, thinks or wants the party's chief HD Deve Gowda to be CM.

On a day when Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited Hassan city, one poster had Deve Gowda listed as the state’s CM.

Siddaramaiah was in Hassan to inaugurate various development works at an event in the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences grounds. The banner was not the official banner of the event hosted by the Hassan district administration.

A poster near the grounds had described Deve Gowda as the chief minister, and Siddarmaiah himself as just “sanmanya”, meaning “honourable”.

So how did this happen?

It is likely that supporters of the JD (S) did not want Siddaramaiah’s name to be above Deve Gowda’s in the latter’s bastion and did it to create mischief.
