For most people, reunions are nothing beyond meeting old friends, making fun of each other like grown-ups and having lunch at posh hotels. But the 1991 batch of St. Joseph’s High School in Bengaluru went a step ahead and even came in their uniforms.

Well, the 40-year-olds did not stop at just that. They even called their teachers to watch over them as they had fun.

Srinivasan from Bengaluru who was a part of the alumni group said that the arrangements for the reunion started last year after the usual “Old Boy’s Association” that takes place on September 3.

They arranged for a three-day reunion from September 2 to 4. One day was spent at a resort in Dodballapura and two days were at the Bangalore Club.

“We initially thought of just calling classmates and arranging for a party. But later the ideas poured in. Some wanted to call teachers, who taught us. We thought it would be difficult initially because we did not have any contacts. But then somehow we were able to gather 28 of them. Out of the 100 ex-students, who were called, 90 of them turned up,” said Srinivasan.

For the uniform, the ex-students were asked to dress in khakhi pants, white shirts and black shoes. The ties were provided at the venue.

“Anyone who did not come in uniform was made to run inside the Bangalore Club periphery. We later also had a march past and a silent prayer for the ones who are no more,” Srinivasan added.
