Following nepotism charges, CM Siddaramaiah's son resigns from Matrix but yet to surrender shares

Written by : TNM Staff

Following political pressure and charges of nepotism on Chief minister Siddaramaiah, his son, Dr Yathindra resigned as the director of Matrix Imaging Solutions India Private Limited on Monday, reported TOI.

The firm raked up a controversy as it was the sole bidder to set up a super-specialty diagnostic lab in government-run PMSSY Hospital. The tender issued to the firm reflected a case of conflict of interest and many opposition members demanded probe in to the bidding process.

However, Dr Thejaswini, wife Dr Rajesh Gowda, who is Yathindra’s business partner would replace him as the new director, reported TOI.

“Since it's a private limited company we need to put up all details on the corporate affairs ministry's portal. The entire process will take at least 15 days,” Rajesh Gowda said.

According to TOI, Yathindra in his resignation letter has said he would like to surrender the shares held by him in the company at the cost price.

Yathindra’s resignation letter: “Due to personal reasons, I am submitting my resignation as director of the company with effect from April 18, 2016. I would also like to surrender the shares held by me in this company at the cost price. Kindly acknowledge the receipt and arrange to submit the necessary forms with the office of the Registrar of Companies, accordingly.”
