Five arrested for allegedly damaging Rajkumar's statue in Bengaluru

The News Minute | November 17, 2014 | 08:23 am ISTFive people have been arrested for allegedly damaging a statue of  Kannade matinee idol Dr Rajkumar last week at Bangarappa Nagar, states a report by The New Indian Express. The accused reportedly poured bike oil on the statue and set it ablaze on November 13. According to the report, the main accused was angry because his name 'had not been printed on the invitation cards for the inauguration of the bust'. He was also said to be jealous of the person who is heading the Dr Rajkumar Seva Samiti. The New Indian Express quotes City Police Commissioner M N Reddi as saying, "We are preparing to book them under the Goonda Act and have sent them to judicial custody".
