Father sacrifices child for hidden treasure in Gulbarga

It now turns out that one and half year old Sadia was ‘sacrificed’ by her father and friends in pursuit of treasure.Sadia’s father Shamshad and his friends wanted to unearth treasure that they believed was buried in a fort in Gulbarga. When one friend suggested that child sacrifice can lead them to the treasure, the greediness seems to have overpowered all logic. On May 20, Shamshad’s friend Mashak kidnapped Sadia.Soon, Shamshad filed a missing persons’ complaint. But after Mashak was arrested, he confessed to the police that it was Shamshad who asked him to kidnap and sacrifice the child. Mashad died of a heart attack in jail custody on Saturday. Some police officers in Gulbarga have been suspened after Mashad’s family claimed he was tortured.
