The News Minute | December 14, 2014 | 11.15 pm ISTThe CID informed the Karnataka High Court on Friday that it had enough  material to file a charge-sheet against Raghaveshwara Bharati Swami, the seer of the Sri Ramachandrapura mutt, for allegedly raping a devotee, reported The Hindu.Responding to the query of the Division bench comprising of Chief Justice D.H. Waghela and Justice Budihal R.B about the progress of the investigation, Advocate General Ravikumar Verma said the complainant had alleged that the seer had raped her over 150 times between 2010-2014. The AG also told the court that the seer was not cooperating with the officials and refused to undergo vital medical tests. The seer had filed an appeal to quash the criminal case against him. The counsel of the seer argued that the complaint was filed to tarnish the image of the seer. He said the accusations of the woman were 'absurd and highly improbable'. He also contended that in a series of interviews given to the TV channels, the woman and her husband had reportedly said that they would not have filed the rape charges against the seer if the mutt had not filed a case of blackmail against them.
