​Even as a year has passed since IAS officer DK Ravi’s passing, the mystery surrounding his death continues with the CBI yet to submit its report.

Ravi’s mother Gowrama, who believes that her son did not commit suicide is planning to meet the chief minister in Bengaluru on Wednesday. She has reportedly demanded a re-postmortem.

On Sunday, his parents, brother and well-wishers commemorated his first death anniversary for which Gowrama pawned her jewellery to meet the expenses. Some others, including small-time politicians also contributed.

People assembled at Doddakoppalu village near Huliyurudurga in Kunigal taluk to mark the anniversary. DK Ravi's widow Kusuma and her father Hanumantharayappa reportedly did not attend Ravi's rituals, despite being invited by his parents.

His elder brother D K Ramesh said the government has not helped them financially. He said that it has given compensation to the martyrs’ families and overlooked DK Ravi who had saved over Rs 130 crore for the state’s exchequer.

The sudden death of DK Ravi (34), an IAS officer who was working as additional commissioner of Commercial Tax (Enforcement) in March 2015 had led to much anger and protests all over Karnataka.

The probe into his death was handed over to CBI by CID in April 2015 after which CBI had twice concluded, once in May 2015 and again in October 2015, that Ravi had committed suicide. However, the report has been consistently disputed by many who feel that he was murdered and have accused the Congress government of a cover-up.
