Popular Kannada film actor Darshan is in the news again. Or rather his mother Meena Toogudeep is.

According to a report published by Suvarana News, Meena’s brother Chamaraj Naidu has accused her of not sharing their father’s property equitably.

Meena is the wife of late Kannada actor Thoogudeepa Srinivas, and hails from Ponnampet in Kodagu district.

Reacting to the allegations, Meena said that she had approached the court five years ago to settle the property dispute, and in turn, accused her brother of seeking publicity as her son was a celebrity.

Darshan is a popular actor known for his roles in films like Kariya, Namma and Preethiya Ramu among numerous others.

In September 2011, Darshan had been arrested by the Bengaluru police after his wife Vijayalakshmi accused him of assaulting her and burning her with cigarettes. He had been booked for attempt to murder.
