The News Minute | March 16, 2015 | 09:00 am ISTA Congolese national working as a software engineer in Bengaluru was attacked in the city by a group of men on Sunday afternoon, states a report by The Times of India. The incident took place in Mahadevapura in east Bengaluru. The attackers alleged that Mande Legrand Tshipande, 29, a Democratic Republic of Congo passport holder and resident of AECS Layout, on March 9 offered Rs 500 to a woman who runs a laundry nearby and solicited sexual favours, states the report. A case has been registered against Tshipande under Section 345 A (physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures; or a demand or request for sexual favours), the woman, husband and brother have been booked under Section 323 (assault).However, Tshipande has refuted the allegations made against him and told the police that he was in office at the time of the alleged incident.
