CID probe into death of girl in Thirthahalli, parents say handover to CBI

The News Minute | November 5, 2014 | 08:59 am ISTKarnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced a CID probe into the mysterious death and alleged gang rape of a 14 year old girl in Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district.On Monday, the town witnessed violence during a bandh called by protestors.The girl's autopsy states there were no traces of sexual assault, but her parents say she was rescued from three men by some local women and the men had every intention to assault the girl.The girl's parents have demanded a CBI enquiry. What has added to their ire is a suicide note which the police have now produced. The girl's parents have accused the police of fabricating a suicide note.Meanwhile, the BJP has accused Siddaramaiah and Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar of trying to shield the culprits. the the best.
