Catch BBC World Questions debate on India’s political future at Bengaluru

BBC correspondent Jonny Dymond will moderate an hour-long debate featuring Surabhi Hodigere (BJP), Kumar Naik (INC), businessman TV Mohandas Pai, KITU’s Rashmi Choudhary, and TNM editor-in-chief Dhanya Rajendran.

BBC World Questions will be bringing its renowned debate programme to Bengaluru on March 4. The programme seeks to “delve into India’s political and economic future”, according to the organisers. The event will be held at the Bangalore International Centre. 

BBC Correspondent Jonny Dymond, will moderate the hour-long debate featuring Surabhi Hodigere (Bharatiya Janata Party), Kumar Naik (Indian National Congress), businessman TV Mohandas Pai, Rashmi Choudhary (Karnataka’s IT Employees Union), and The News Minute’s editor-in-chief Dhanya Rajendran. 

The debate aims to address critical issues India currently faces, including economic growth, public services, workers’ rights, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the environment. The programme will be recorded in front of a live audience and broadcast on BBC World Service English on March 8. It will also be available to stream on BBC Sounds, and other podcast platforms.

Expressing delight at being back India for BBC World Questions,Gwenan Roberts, commissioning editor at BBC World Service English said, “ We hope to be joined by a lively public audience as we debate the key issues facing this urban metropolis [Bengaluru], including economic growth, equality, working conditions and the environment.”
