BJP demands resignation of 4 Congress ministers; starts 'Seize Suvarna Soudha' campaign

The party has introduced the hashtag 'Seize Suvarna Soudha' on its official Twitter account. The Karnataka assembly winter session began on Tuesday at the Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi on a rocky note as BJP MLAs demanded the resignation of four Congress ministers on corruption charges. The party has also accused the ruling party of not fulfilling the promises it made to the sugarcane farmers. While the CM has refused to sack them, the BJP had threatened to stage protests at Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi during the winter session. The four ministers facing the heat are: a) Dinesh Gundu Rao: Son of former Chief Minister R. Gundu Rao, he is alleged to have encroached 65 acres of government land by the A.T. Ramaswamy Committee report. The minister while rubbishing the allegations insists that the land was inherited by him and his brothers from their father. The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President G. Parameshwara gave the Food and Civil Supplies minister a clean chit.b) K J George – The Home Ministry is being held responsible for the series of rapes and sexual assaults against women and children that have marred Bengaluru’s image. c) Qhamar- ul-Islam: Municipal Administration and Wakf Minister is alleged to have sold the Wakf Board property illegally and the the Lokayukta police have registered an FIR in this regard, reports the New Indian Express.d) H.S Mahadev Prasad – The Lokayukta police filed a charge-sheet against the Minister for Co-operatives and Sugar on October 30 on land grabbing charges. According to the report, the minister had got himself allotted a house from the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) in Chamarajanagar in Mysuru despite owning a house and other properties in the same town.
