Bhatkal man, suspected to have links with IM, detained in Bengaluru

The News Minute | January 17, 2015 | 09:43 am IST City Police on Friday detained a man, hailing from Bhatkal, in BTM Layout in Bengaluru, states a report by The New Indian Express. The man, who was visiting a friend in the city at the time he was held, is suspected to have links with the Indian Mujahideen. The man is being questioned as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of four alleged IM operatives arrested last week, states the report. The man was held by Central Crime Branch officials following information provided by the other four suspects. “We are still questioning him. The suspicion is that he may have funded the other suspects through hawala transactions", a senior police official told The New Indian Express. The detained man works abroad and had come to India a few days ago.
