A woman accused of drug-trafficking was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Twenty-six-year-old Darshitmita Gowda, who works as a model, was arrested under various sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

According to the NCB sleuths, Gowda, who is the fifth person to be arrested in the trafficking case, was allegedly supplying drugs to college students and office goers, in Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Goa, reported The Times of India.

The NCB began the investigation in November 2015. They seized drugs from the apartment where Gowda and her boyfriend Nishant lived. However, only Nishant was arrested, as Gowda was not present in the house at the time.

Nishant claimed Gowda was part of the business and managed the financial transactions. “It was not just the boyfriend. Three others accused also named her as an accomplice,” said NCB sources.

After collecting evidence against her, the NCB summoned her. She appeared before the NCB and was taken into custody.
