Bengaluru man hacked to death at CCD outlet in suspected revenge killing

Written by : TNM Staff

A 30-year-old man was hacked to death by four armed men on Thursday, at a Cafe Coffee Day outlet in Vijayanagar.

The deceased has been identified as Mahesh alias Mota. His associate Rakshith also sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment.

According to The Hindu report, Mahesh tried to flee when he saw the gang approach the outlet.

“He seemed to have realised that they had come for him, but the gang pinned him down and struck repeatedly,” the report quotes a policer officer as saying.

Reports say that the police suspect the murder to be a case of revenge killing, as Mahesh was closely associated with the accused in another murder case and is wanted in two murder cases.

On April 27, 28-year-old gangster Harsha was murdered by a group of 10 men in Vijayanagar. Police suspect Mahesh's killers to be Harsha's associates, since the gang thought that Mahesh had financed the murder.
