At least ten people, including a minor boy, were injured in a suspected cylinder explosion in Chinnaiahnapalya near Wilson Garden in Bengaluru on the morning of Thursday, August 15.

The blast occurred at around 8.20 am in a small house within a densely populated settlement. The police control room received a call shortly after, and the fire department was alerted. Two fire tenders were dispatched immediately.

The force of the explosion caused at least three makeshift houses to collapse. Police have cordoned off the area while Fire and Emergency Services personnel work to clear the debris. All the injured have been taken to a nearby hospital.

Preliminary investigations suggest a cylinder leak as the likely cause, though officials are yet to confirm the exact reason for the blast. Senior police officers have reached the spot to assess the situation, and further details are awaited.
