Nearly 1,792 agencies have submitted applications for renewal of licences and BBMP has decided to collect advertisement fee from them along with over dues where necessary, he said.  BBMP officials state that there are 1,700 legal and 1,100 illegal hoardings in the city. “By Saturday, a list of legal hoardings has to be prepared. By doing so, illegal hoardings and flexes can be identified. Then, the illegal ones can be removed,” Bhaskar was quoted as saying by the paper. The civic body which has submitted a new advertising policy along with a revision of advertisement rates to the state government, is waiting for its approval.  In January this year, the BBMP had passed a resolution to completely ban hoardings, irrespective of the size, to keep the city clean.
