The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Thursday, May 22, issued a public advisory asking residents to report any denial of entry into public parks during designated operating hours.

In June 2024, the civic body revised the timings for all parks across the city, mandating that they remain open from 5 am to 10 pm daily. The move came in response to public demand for longer and more consistent access. However, BBMP officials said they have received complaints that some parks continue to restrict entry outside older time slots.

“The circular clearly states that no park under BBMP limits can deny entry to the public during these hours. Should any such instance occur, citizens are encouraged to submit complaints to the BBMP along with photographic evidence,” a statement from the civic body said.

Residents can register complaints by calling the BBMP helpline at 1533, sending a message via WhatsApp to 94806 85700, using the Sahaaya 2.0 mobile app, or emailing comm@bbmp.gov.in or scfeccm2024@gmail.com with photographic evidence.
