Bangalore region received highest rainfall in the country, but no measure to conserve excess water

The News Minute | September 10, 2014 | 09:52 am ISTThis monsoon, Bangalore and 15 other districts of South Interior Karnataka have received the highest rainfall in the country, states a report by Bangalore Mirror. South Interior Karnataka received 23 per cent excess rainfall in this year's monsoon, states the data released by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). There has been no floods in these regions; but at the same time most of the excess water could not be stored due to absence of proper mechanism to conserve the excess water, adds the report.
