Across the world people have poured in large numbers to watch Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol reunite on screen in ‘Dilwale’ but it is doubtful whether Mangalureans will watch the movie in the near future.

Three days after the release of Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Bajrang Dal activists in Mangaluru protested against the screening of the film following the actor’s comments on intolerance.

DNA reported that on Sunday the theatre owners had to succumb to the right-wing group’s demand in view of security concerns as the protesters marched into the premises.

The screening of the movie at three theatres- City Centre Mall, Forum Fiza mall and Bharat mall in Mangaluru were running with full houses until then.

On November 2, Khan had said at a press conference in Mumbai that “religious intolerance and not being secular is the worst kind of crime that you can do as a patriot.”

Right-wing outfits, including VHP and Bajrang Dal, had been protesting against the Bollywood superstar's movie in Rajasthan and Maharashtra since its release.

Bajrang Dal convenor Sharan Pumpwell told reporters that its activists had stopped screening of the film in the malls to protest Shah Rukh Khan's remarks on intolerance.

The activists allegedly warned the theatre owners against screening any Aamir Khan movie who also had recently made a controversial comment on intolerance.
