Along with acting in cinema and TV, he has been a television presenter and a playback singer.
The actor made his debut as a child artist in 1975.
Puneeth was born in Chennai but later shifted to Bengaluru with his family at the age of six.
The actor is also known for philanthropic activities along with his mother Parvathamma at an ashram in Mysore.
He has been the brand ambassador of several organizations including the Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL team.
Puneeth has been married to Ashwini Revanath since 1999 and the couple have two daughters Vanditha and Drithi.
