One Indigo flight from Delhi to Bengaluru was diverted and the departures of 41 flights were delayed due to conditions of fog early on Monday morning at the Bengaluru International Airport. Operations at the airport were suspended from 6:41 am to 7:23 am while a visibility standby which was issued at 4:23 am was withdrawn at 9 am. Such a standby is declared when the visibility decreases to below 2500 meters.
The delays inconvenienced hundreds of passengers at the airport. One flight was delayed in its arrival at the Bengaluru airport in the morning. This comes after 38 flights were delayed due to fog on Sunday due to poor visibility caused by fog. On the same day, 11 flights were delayed in its arrival in Bengaluru, while 4 flights were diverted including the Air India flight from Ahmedabad diverted to Chennai; Air India flight from Vizag diverted to Hyderabad; Indigo from Delhi diverted to Hyderabad; Air India from Dubai via Goa diverted to Chennai.
In fact, dense fog has caused flight delays on every morning in the last seven days in Bengaluru as cold weather gripped the city.
Several airline companies took to social media to issue travel advisories to passengers in Bengaluru due to the weather conditions.

The dense fog in the mornings come at a time when a cold wave is sweeping through the city. Temperatures dipped to as low as 6 degrees on Friday, according to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC).
The departure of 27 flights and the arrival of 15 flights were delayed on Friday at the Bengaluru airport while eight flights were diverted from landing in the city, a number that remains the highest in this winter so far.
