A 32-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an autorickshaw driver on the way from KR Puram to Yelahanka.

According to the police, they have filed a complaint, but are waiting for the medical report from Bowring Hospital, reported Bangalore Mirror. The report however did not mention when the incident took place.

Meanwhile, her family members claim that she is not mentally sound and is fabricating the allegations.

The woman reportedly told the police that she had left her home at night after a fight in the family. She hired an auto from Yelahanka to Krishnaraja Puram. On her way back to Yelahanka at 3 am, the auto driver and his friend took her to an under-construction building and allegedly raped her.

“I couldn't note down the registration number as it was dark,” she said.

When the police called the family members, they said that the woman had a mental problem and that she should have gone to the police station first instead of going to the hospital.

“We have registered a case of sexual harassment under Section 354(A) of the Indian Penal Code. The victim's statement has been recorded. We'll know the rest from the medical report. We've also taken note of the allegations made by her family,“ said an officer who is part of the investigation.
