Will Vijay enter politics? His father says its upto him

Written by : TNM

Every time the elections are announced, all eyes turn toward two stars in Kollywood – Rajinikanth and Vijay.

Both of them have a huge fan following and a strong fan club, which can be easily converted into political parties. While Rajini has always remained non-committal about his political plans, Vijay’s father and director SA Chandrasekar is known to come out with statements regarding his son’s political entry.

Recently, the media had quoted him as saying that Vijay would never enter politics. However, SA Chandrasekar has since retracted that statement.

The director is reported to have told a cine news portal that, “I never said that Vijay would not enter politics. I initially had an idea to enter politics, but today, politics has become dirty and I have made up my mind not to step into it. That was my statement, and it had nothing to do with Vijay, and I’m not sure what his plans are.”

Meanwhile, Vijay is busy shooting for his 61st film directed by Atlee.

To be titled soon, the film has Kajal Agarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen as the female leads with SJ Suryah in an important role.

AR Rahman is composing tunes for this film.
