When it was revealed that Raghavendra Rajkumar would be staging a comeback with Chillum this year, his fans were elated and were waiting in anticipation for the movie to release. The star was supposed to play the villain in the film. However, we now hear that Raghavendra Rajkumar is no more a part of this project.
Enquiries as to why he walked out of Chillum revealed that his fans weren’t too happy with him staging a comeback as a villain. Further, his character in the movie required him to act in smoking and drinking scenes, which his fans did not want him to do. Paying heed to their request, Raghavendra decided to let go of his role in Chillum.
Interestingly, he has bagged the lead role in Ammana Mane, in which he plays the head of a family. The film’s official pooja is slated to be held on August 15 and the film is expected to hit the silver screens early next year. Nikhil Manju is wielding the megaphone for this venture. Ammana Mane will be a multi-starrer and the director is in talks with a few other heroes to play important roles in it.
On the film, the director told the Indian Express in a recent interview: “It is a family drama, which looks at work, life and family balance. In his role, Raghavendra Rajkumar has to play the role of a man who has to finely balance his work pressure and keep his family happy.”
Raghavendra Rajkumar, the son of legendary thespian Rajkumar and brother of superstars Shiva Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar, made his acting debut as a child artiste. After donning the greasepaint in a few films as hero, he decided to take a break from acting in 2004. His last film as hero was Pakkadmane Hudugi. He later turned producer by bankrolling films such as Jackie, Anna Bond and Yaare Koogadali.
