Who should play Anju Bobby George in a biopic? Anushka Sharma, says the athlete

Anju Bobby George made India proud by winning the bronze medal in Long Jump at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics in Paris. She is also the first Indian athlete to win a medal in a World Championships in Athletics jumping 6.70 m.

Having won several medals, Anju was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2002 and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2003–2004. With so much to her credit, it is natural that filmmakers would want to make a biopic on her.

In tune with this idea of a biopic on her, Anju Bobby George, who currently resides in Bengaluru has reportedly said that Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma would be the right choice to play her in the biopic.

While Anju is not averse to the idea of making a biopic on her, she doesn’t want it to happen any time soon. The athlete has reportedly said that filmmakers who are keen on making the biopic should do it only when one of the students trained at her academy wins the Olympics medal.

She was quoted by TOI, saying "Frankly speaking, I feel there is a lot of time for a movie to be made on my life. I have started a sports academy and presently I am busy grooming budding sportspersons there. Someone told me that a filmmaker wanted to cast Anushka Sharma too play my character in my biopic and I agree with the choice. If ever a film is made on me, I feel Anushka will fit the bill and play me perfectly on screen."

Anushka Sharma was last seen in the Hindi movie Jab Harry Met Sejal which released in August this year. She is currently busy with director Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju. She also has Pari in her kitty which is to be directed Prosit Roy and an untitled film which will have Anand L Rai helming the affairs as the director.
