The News Minute| November 15, 2014| 3.56 pm ISTYou read right. The social networking app is going to introduce a setting that will let users choose to disable the ‘blue tick marks’. It is not officially out yet on mobile phones but is only available on the Whatsapp website. This update will let users check the ‘Read Receipts’ option that will turn off the feature. It would also mean that the user cannot see if his/her messages are read or not. Read: Dear Whatsapp, thanks, but no thanks. Whatsapp recently updated their app with a ‘Read Messages’ feature that would turn the two tick marks blue when a message was read. This obviously caused much panic amongst users as it increased pressure between people to reply to message once it was read. The update also had a feature where the person could see at what time the message was read (select the message and press the ‘i’ button which would appear at the top).
