Written by : TNM

The News Minute| December 18, 2014| 12.30 pm ISTBritish Indian novelist Salman Rushdie, seemed a little worried when he saw that his twitter followers and fans were actually interacting with a parody account of Rushdie, thinking it was actually the writer himself. The owner of the parody account had tweeted a slightly mocking tweet about two leading newspapers of the country. Its followers immediately replied to it, shocked and thinking that it was the actual author himself. Rushdie then told his followers that they could distinguish between his actual account and his fake one, by ‘following the blue ticks’. The parody account, ‘RushdieExplainsIndia’, states that it was ‘graciously blessed by Sir (Rushdie) himself’. The owner later tweeted an apology to Rushdie. Also Read: Meet the man behind the Salman Rushdie parody on TwitterTweetMy apologies to @SalmanRushdie No one should be pestered for another man's folly.Story of our subcontinental history https://t.co/a4S9dR4iOC— RushdieExplainsIndia (@RushdieExplains) December 18, 2014
