What’s up with Kamal’s 'Vishwaroopam 2'?

Written by : TNM

When Kamal Haasan made Vishwaroopam, he had announced that there would be a sequel to it and that major portions of it have been shot already.

Four years after the release of the first part, there is still no sign of the sequel.

Enquiries revealed that the project involves quite a lot of VFX work and the team might require another 6 months to complete it.

There is a chance of Vishwaroopam 2 being out in the theatres by Independence Day, August 15, 2017.

The spy thriller stars Kamal Haasan, Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Shekhar Kapur and Waheeda Rehman.

To be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously, the film is produced jointly by Viswanathan Ravichandran, Ekta Kapoor (Hindi) and Shobha Kapoor (Hindi) under the banners Aascar Films and Balajii Motion Pictures.

Apart from playing the lead role in the film, the 'Ulaga Nayagan' has also wielded the megaphone for it.

Ghibran has composed music for the film.

A major portion of the film has been shot in Thailand and Bangkok apart from Chennai.

Vishwaroopam won a couple of National Awards for Best Choreography (Birju Maharaj) and Best Production Design (Boontawee 'Thor' Taweepasas & Lalgudi N Ilayaraja).
