Watch Video: First ever ultra-HD video of the Sun released by NASA, it is brilliant

Written by : TNM Staff

Have you ever watched the sun in ultra High-Defintion? It's magical.

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (NSDO) took images of the sun in ten wavelengths of invisible ultraviolet light in every twelve seconds. Each wavelength is assigned a unique color and every image is eight times the resolution of HD video.

A team of media specialists worked about 300 hours to create the whole video of 30 minutes.

NASA Goddard - the space flight centre - said, "Presented in ultra-high definition video (4K) the video presents the nuclear fire of our life-giving star in intimate detail, offering new perspective into our own relationships with grand forces of the solar system."

The NSDO also has a webpage of real-time images of the sun. So, when you are done watching this video, you can check this out. Here’s a video by NASA which shows sun in varied colours and wavelengths.
