The trailer for Tollywood star Varun Tej’s next film Valmiki was released on Monday and it shows the actor in an all new avatar.

“Meet Gaddhala Konda Ganesh and gang,” tweeted the actor along with the link to the trailer of the film.

With glimpses of Varun Tej as the ruthless rowdy ‘Gaddalakonda Ganesh’ interspersed with punch dialogues and action sequences, the film promises to be a full-fledged entertainer.

The film, which is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film Jigarthanda, has Varun Tej playing Bobby Simha’s role from the original, and Atharvaa Murali reprising Siddharth’s character. Pooja Hegde appears to be playing the lead opposite Varun and actor Mirnalini Ravi plays the leading lady opposite Atharvaa.

Varun was last seen in F2-Fun and Frustration alongside Venkatesh Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia and Mehreen Peerzada. Pooja Hegde, on the other hand, was last seen opposite Mahesh Babu in Maharshi. Atharvaa Murali, son of the late veteran Tamil actor Murali, will be seen making his debut in Tollywood with this film. He was last seen playing the role of Sathya, an aspiring cop in the Tamil film 100, alongside Hansika Motwani.

Harish Shankar S, who previously directed Duvvada Jagannadham, has wielded the megaphone for this movie. Devi Sri Prasad has handled the music for the film, with Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta producing the film under their banner.

Jigarthanda was written and directed by Karthik Subburaj. Siddharth, Bobby Simha and Lakshmi Menon played the lead roles, with Nassar, Ambika, Karunakaran and Sangili Murugan seen in supporting roles. Bobby Simha received a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor and Vivek Harshan received the same for Best Editing. It was made on a budget of Rs 10 crore and brought in Rs 35 crore at the box office.
