The much awaited trailer for Parvathy's Uyare was released on Wednesday. The film will see the actor playing the role of an acid attack survivor. Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas are also part of the cast.

The trailer gives us ample clues about the plot line. Parvathy plays Pallavi Raveendran, a pilot at Cloud Nine Airlines, who is in a relationship with a character played by Asif Ali. From the looks of it, the latter is unhappy with her taking up the job and the relationship turns sour. Tovino plays the Executive Vice President at Cloud Nine and Prathap Pothen is one of the employees. Siddique acts as Pallavi's doting father in the film.

The trailer begins with an emergency landing due to turbulence, and goes on to show us the romance between Pallavi and her boyfriend. We get to see how Pallavi transforms from a traditional look to a modern one as she becomes a pilot - something her boyfriend appears to resent. Although we do not see Pallavi's face after she's attacked, there's a brief glimpse of Parvathy with her face half-covered with a dupatta.

Directed by Manu Ashokan, Uyare is due for release on April 26. This will be Parvathy's next film to hit the screens after Anjali Menon's Koode where she acted along with Prithviraj and Nazriya. Uyare has been written by Bobby-Sanjay and has music by Gopi Sunder.

Despite being controversy's favourite child in the misogynistic Malayalam film industry, Parvathy has continued to impress with her film selection and powerful performances. The award winning actor has refused to compromise on her principles on screen as well as off it. She's frequently trolled on social media for being a vocal champion of women's rights and is a prominent member of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC). Nevertheless, Parvathy has prevailed over the trolls and has never apologised for expressing herself. Her fan base has only grown more because of her attitude and the box-office success of her films is testimony to that.
