Watch: Trailer of Karthi's 'Dev' looks exciting

Written by : TNM Staff

After a good break of almost 8 years, actor Karthi will be seen in a road adventure film, Dev. Directed by Rajath Ravishankar, who is making his debut, the film also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Prakash Raj, Vamsi Krishna and Ramya Krishnan in important roles.

The film’s trailer that was released on Thursday, promises an action adventure flick. Produced by S Lakshman Kumar of Prince Pictures, this film is being presented by Reliance Entertainment.

The trailer begins with Karthi’s voice-over that gives us a clear character sketch of the film’s protagonist. The hero is a passionate, adventure seeking photographer who loves being on the road, in addition to playing the guitar.

Karthi is see plunging into deep pools of water, riding a heavy muscle bike, traveling on dirt tracks and swerving around in convertible cars. His password, in fact, is ‘iloveadventure’.

Actor Rakul Preet also makes an appearance in the trailer as the woman being wooed by the film’s male lead. Her character maybe pegged under ‘strong, independent woman’, a hint we take from the dialogue “a woman can live even without the initial of a man.”

The trailer ends with a cliff-hanger and we hear Karthi's voice-over that goes ‘only loneliness can strengthen the mind’. The film is slated for release this February 14.

Music director Harris Jayaraj has composed the tunes for this film. His last in Tamil was Vanamagan that released in 2017 starring Jayam Ravi and Sayyeshaa.

The Dev teaser that released in November last year received a good response.

Dev is Karthi’s second film with Rakul, the first being the super hit Theeran Adhigaram Ondru directed by H Vinoth. Karthi had played a police officer in search of a gang of bandits in the film while Rakul played his wife.
