The teaser for Kadaram Kondan, starring Vikram, and produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, was released on Tuesday. The film has been written and directed by Rajesh M Selva and has music by Ghibran.

The teaser begins with a female voice-over introducing "KK" as an expert in "smuggling, theft, robbery and safe-breaking". He's also described as "very intelligent". That can only mean that "KK" is the hero of the film, played by Chiyaan Vikram. The teaser promises an action film with plenty of high drama and appears to be set largely in Malaysia. Vikram looks stylish with a salt and pepper beard and leather jacket, while Akshara Haasan seems to be part of a romance track along with Abi Mehdhi Hassan, veteran actor Nassar's son. There are other women characters, too, who appear to have important roles in the film.

The teaser says that the film will release in summer 2019.

Kamal's last production was Viswaroopam 2 which proved to be a disaster at the box-office. While the first film faced problems during its release, it went on to win critical acclaim and appreciation from the audience. However, the second film seemed to suffer from poor production values and also had a weak script.

Vikram's last film was the forgettable Saamy Square with director Hari. The film, a sequel to Saamy, was criticised for its over-the-top and unrealistic action sequences. Both Vikram and Kamal, therefore, will be looking to change their luck at the box-office with Kadaram Kondan.
