Watch: Teaser of 'Vella Raja', Amazon Prime's first web series in Tamil

The teaser of the web series, Vella Raja, is out and has captured the attention of the netizens. It will be dubbed in Hindi and Telugu as well. Starring Bobby Simha and Parvati Nair in the lead role, it has been bankrolled by SR Prabhu under his banner Dream Warrior Pictures.

The star cast also includes Gayathrie Shankar and Kaali Venkat in pivotal roles. This web series will be launched in all three languages on December 7.

On bankrolling the venture, the producer had said to Cinema Express, “It has always been our effort to provide quality entertainment. Like always, we have delved deep into each character, establishing their back-stories and building a complex, grim, dark drug world with undertones of humour.” Incidentally, Vella Raja will be the first Tamil Amazon Original that will be out on Amazon Prime Video.

Bobby Simha began his acting career with the Balaji Mohan directorial Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi and since then has been choosing his projects wisely. He has appeared in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films so far and has won several awards for his acting including the 2014 National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for Jigarthanda, Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize for Best Actor for Jigarthanda, the Filmfare Award, etc.

He is currently expecting the release of the Rajinikanth starrer Petta in which he is doing a role. The film is directed by Karthik Subburaj and has Vijay Sethupathi in a prominent role as well.

Also, Agni Dev, went on to the floors recently starring Bobby Simha in the lead role. The film has Remya Nambeesan playing the female lead with Sathish in a pivotal role. It is directed by John Paul Raj and Sham Surya of Chennaiyil Oru Naal 2 fame and is bankrolled by Seantoa Studio in association with Jai Film Productions.
