Watch: Teaser of Mohanlal’s ‘Lucifer’ promises a dark and intense thriller

The teaser of the much-awaited Mohanlal-Prithviraj film Lucifer was released early on Thursday. Superstar Mammootty took to Facebook to unveil the 44-second long teaser. The teaser starts with darkness and the voice of a priest asking a man called Esthappan to do a confession if he isn’t planning on returning to the church. The screen then lights up to show Mohanlal walking out of a prison, his back turned to the audience. The superstar’s familiar voice is heard responding to the priest. He says, “Father, I can only confess to sins I have committed. How do I confess to sins I am yet to commit?”

Lucifer, touted to be a political thriller, marks the debut of actor Prithviraj as director. The film has Mohanlal in the lead role with Manju Warrier playing the lead opposite him. Others in the cast include Indrajith Sukumaran, Vivek Oberoi and Tovino in pivotal roles. Those in supporting roles include Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas and Mala Parvathy.

Veteran writer and actor Murali Gopy has penned the script for Lucifer. The technical crew of the film comprise Sujith Vasudevan for cinematography and Samjith for editing while Stephen Devassy will be in charge of the music composition.

Mohanlal’s fans are no doubt elated with the release of the Lucifer teaser, but more significant is the release of Odiyan which has the star playing the title role. This film will be out on December 14.

Odiyan marks the directorial debut of ad filmmaker VA Shreekumar Menon in the Malayalam film industry. The technical crew of the film includes M Jayachandran to compose the soundtrack while Sam CS is in charge of the BGM. Shaji Kumar is the cinematographer for this venture and John Kutty the editor. Odiyan is a high budget movie being bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
