The pre-release event of Prabhas’s upcoming film Saaho was held in much grandeur at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad on Sunday. The event had in attendance many stalwarts from the industry, including director SS Rajamouli, producer Dil Raju and veteran actor Krishnam Raju, apart from the cast and crew of Saaho.

A whopping sum of Rs 2.5 crore was reportedly spent on the function along with the film props (specially-made vehicles, killer machines and gadgets) put on display at the Ramoji Film City.

Hosted by popular anchor Suma Kanakala, the four-hour long event provided a sneak-peek into Prabhas’s film career, beginning from his first film Eeswar to Baahubali. Prabhas, unlike his usual reticent self in front of media, spoke for about 10 minutes to his fans, praising each and every member of Saaho’s crew, for the tremendous effort put into the film. Addressing everyone as ‘darlings’ (inspired by one of the most successful films in his career), the actor also heaped praises on Shraddha Kapoor for shooting for almost two years for the film, in an industry totally alien to her.

Prabhas also launched the "Bad Boy" song from Saaho during the event to a crowd of over one lakh.

Director Rajamouli, actor Krishnam Raju, Arun Vijay, director VV Vinayak, producer Allu Aravind, music director Ghibran and others also spoke at the function, with many praising director Sujeeth for directing Prabhas in a pan-Indian movie at such a young age.

Sujeeth, in turn, called Prabhas a passionate actor who is very particular about the minute details of the film. “I had narrated the blood-dripping sequence (the last scene in the trailer) almost two-years back to Prabhas. The actor had this in mind and reminded me while we were shooting for the film. He hadn’t even forgotten the date on which I had narrated this particular sequence. Prabhas is like a 100 TB hard-disk, he never forgets any detail when it comes to his movies,” the director added.

Shraddha Kapoor, who is debuting in Tollywood with Saaho, also thanked everyone for the film, ending her speech with a line in Telugu. Director Rajamouli too praised Sujeeth and art director Sabu Cyril for the extraordinary sets and action sequences in the film.

Saaho, Prabhas’s first release after the mammoth success of the Baahubali series, is all set to hit screens on August 30. The film is bankrolled by V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banner UV Creations on a budget of Rs 300 crore. The film’s star cast also includes Neil Nitin Mukesh, Lal, Arun Vijay, Mandira Bedi, Jackie Shroff, Vennela Kishore, Mahesh Manjrekar and Chunky Pandey in supporting roles.

The film is releasing in four languages- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
