Netflix has released the trailer for the second season of the hit series Never Have I Ever on Friday, June 18, in a virtual event. Starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan in the lead, the coming-of-age comedy tracks the life of an Indian-origin American teenager, Devi, who is caught in the midst of high school drama, troubles at home and romantic relationships. Created by executive producer Mindy Kaling, with Lang Sher serving as co-creator, executive producer, showrunner and writer, the second season of the Netflix original will be streaming from July 15.

Picking up right from where season 1 left off, the close to two-minutes-long trailer of season 2 is packed with visuals indicating Devi’s struggle in choosing between Paxton and Ben. The video opens with a board showing the pros and cons list of dating Paxton versus Ben. Devi’s friends Eleanor and Fabiola’s vote for Paxton. However, unable to pick one, Devi thinks about the possibility of dating both of them until her mother decides to move them to India. “So, you’re saying I should just have two boyfriends,” Devi summarises, ignoring Fabiola who exclaims, “Definitely not!”. The trailer hints that Devi decides to date both the men at the same time.

Never Have I Ever season 2 will also focus on the new romantic relationships of Fabiola, Eleonor and her mother and Nalini’s new romantic relationships. The makers revealed earlier that Nalini will cross paths with Dr Chris Jackson, a suave and debonair dermatologist in this season of Never Have I Ever. Just when one wonders if Devi has a lot on her plate, the makers introduce “another Indian girl who is prettier, cooler”: Aneesa, played by Megan Suri. Devi is convinced that Aneesa poses a threat to her image in the school. With every bad decision stirring a hornet’s nest, the second season of the teen drama is likely to be filled with romance, laughter and friendship.
